Spacebattles becomes less interesting by the day, even beyond the "borders" of WH/NSFD and the WR. There's just masses of people sharing fairly extremist views (in a sense that they completely refuse to understand or seek another point of view) (one way or another) about a given debate, completely unable/unwilling to do a little introspection, with people who don't care how stupid/horrible/incoherent/... their arguments really. And amidst all that, a few people whom I really enjoy debating with or just reading. Nowadays, it feels more and more a place where neutral, objective or moderated people are becoming a minority.

As for sources, I would like to recommend Norman Davies' "God's Playground".
Definitely not the newest book out there. First edition was in 1981 but a well-enough researched one. And unlike most it covers periods that other authors skip. Like the whole of 1700s that people don't like to talk about.
