Agent of F.A.T.E

C'mon baroness, I have faith in you.

More rats, yay!
You hummed as you looked over what the rats had been up to. They had greatly improved their tunnels from what you could see. More supports made if actual stone rather than just some slapdash wood. It seemed like actual rooms were being built with doors and such, and they had made a room deeper down for the meat. To keep it cold you supposed.

Oh, they had also gone hunting! And the warrior had already fought a beast. Some sort of worm that tunneled through stone and made a general nuisance of itself. It tried to eat the newborns had he had jumped down its stomach, slicing it open from the inside.

Metal.

You had a little bit of fun by making soft sighing sounds around lone rats, but even that got boring quickly.

Deciding to check on Kingdok and what he was doing before you left, your shard went through the layers of stone until you found him, speaking with what looked like other rats.

" King-Kingdok, some of the rats have been wanting to build homes on top of the mountain. They say they're tired of living in the tunnels."

" But, we are safe here. The worms can be killed, we have plenty of food, the woods are-are safe. Why would they want to go above?"

" They say they are tired of the dark. That they want to feel the sun of their snouts and fur, live more like humans." He paused. " Speaking of the humans..."

" No. No- No, we will not be meeting them yet. We didn't hunt-hunt them like the goblins did, but they are still angry, and now they have a large lizard! No, we stay away for now. Keep to ourselves. When ready, and they calm down-dowm, then we can go meet them."

" Yes Kingdok." The rat gave a little bow.

You smiled as you watched the ratlings scurry amongst themselves and plan, then vanished.

A quick check on the less physical landscape showed that the gods were about ready. You couldn't see them yet, but you could sort of feel them. And what you could feel showed that whatever big event for each of their respective species happened next, they would pop out then. The fish and the Lizardman gods were probably going to be the first ones to pop out, seeing as they were the oldest. Then the rats, and humans. Humans you weren't sure.

Though, it felt like you were forgetting something important. Something you should remember... bah, it probably wasn't important.

What was important is that there was a big ass fight going on between the lizardmen tribes! Three claw was ripping through his former clanmates who were invading his tribe's den, seeming to have found a favorite move of using his big hand to spear someone then chomp off part of their neck with his teeth.

As much as you wanted to rush over and see who would win, it seemed the fish knight was in the middle of a fight as well. Surrounded by some sort of crab monsters, she and the sea horse guy were leading city guards against them.

Of course, you could just ignore them both and go off to explore.

Let's explore!!!

Fexk the election had me lose all contact with questing..

Exploring up north.
[X] Explore ( Will result in a roll and possible event.)

As you looked over the spat of land the races were inhabiting, you realized something. You hadn't explored in a little while, sticking with the same champions and species. Sure they were interesting, but you had an entire PLANET to explore. You could certainly leave them alone for a little while

With that you started to move an avatar of yourself. You decide to go more north bound, and slowly travel. You take a year to move, wanting to be able to see the small things. The iron skinned forest was certainly a delight, and the wonderful creatures you found there would be a good source of inspiration. I mean, a spider that made a trap between the branches for the flying squirrels? Genius! And they were roughly dog sized, so they would make for good monsters later on. Too bad they were more solitary hunters.

There were sabre tooth cats, who's saliva was slightly acidic, and a whole number of prey species who had adapted to this in different ways, though armor and speed, and in one delightful case decided fuck it and sometimes hunted the sabre tooth cats themselves.

( Roll:55) As you went along, you found a curious kind of material. It was a group of blue, pulsating rocks gathered together in a sort of pile. You were certain you hadn't decided on magic rocks for the magic of this world, so why...

Ah, AH! That was very clever. This species was certainly unique. It had decided instead of flesh and bone, it would become more like rocks and mountains. This was a colony that had come from up north, there not being enough resources for the both of them. The fact its head almost brushed against the trees was no matter. Now, how did it keep itself going? Drawing in ambient magic! If it wanted, it could sit here for centuries and not worry about running out of food.

[] Go to the mountains and see what has happened up there.

[] Keep exploring the iron forest, and maybe interfere here.

[x] Go to the mountains and see what has happened up there.

Please please please continue. I love this quest.

Chapter 16: The top of the mountain.
[x] Go to the mountains and see what has happened up there.

You let out a soft hum, running your fingers over the surface of the pulsing crystals. "Aren't you an interesting specimen? I wonder, what would you look like if I took a chunk of you and let you gather mana from myself?" You didn't pick up any sort of emotion, any hint of sentience. A quick jab with your finger nails sent a large chunk falling to the ground where you scooped it up. A quick portal later and it was tossed into your sub portal to your home for you to experiment with later.

"Now," you adjusted your physical form for a moment, ensuring that you wouldn't gain something as silly as frostbite. With that addition made, you started your climb up the mountain. There was nothing notable at first, just rock and trees towards the bottom; sleet and ice past that. But the further up you went the more blue pulsing crystal veins you saw, seeming to dig into the earth of the ground.

"Well now," you whispered in amazement as you took in the sheer mass of the creature before you. Creatures blind to magic wouldn't be able to understand the full POTENTIAL of the creature before you. Oh yes they would see the physical beauty, but they would not be able to see the music this creature sang into the air around it. It was simple for now, like a child taking its first steps into musical theory, but with time it would become more complex and perhaps could become an orchestra worthy of hearing. For all to hear.

[] What do you want to do?

[X] Let the rocks evolve naturally and then we will make our move to make them beautiful, for now, perhaps we can chill and see how everything will evolve. Perhaps a century is enough for now? Once our century-long break is over we can go back and see how things have developed. If there are gods that have been born.

Oh, if anyone calls your name during your break, please come to them, and potentially aid them if it's necessary.

Chapter 17: Oh how the time has passed.
[X] Let the rocks evolve naturally and then we will make our move to make them beautiful, for now, perhaps we can chill and see how everything will evolve. Perhaps a century is enough for now? Once our century-long break is over we can go back and see how things have developed. If there are gods that have been born.

You were tempted, oh so tempted to interfere and make this crystal sing a song worthy of being recorded, worthy of being heard. But while you could certainly force it through, you let your hand drop to your side. Perhaps, it would be more beautiful for it to develop naturally, In fact, maybe it was time for you to go home. You had interfered in this world enough for things to become interesting, and messing with it too much at once would lead to stagnation and proper development not happening.

In a burst of white light that extended towards the sky you left the world for now, leaving it to its devices. While you waited for things to happen you mostly slept and took messages from your friends, hearing them speak of their own worlds that they developed. But you did make one change to your house. You... (Choose 1)

[] Added a library. Filled with your old literature, it is filled with what most lesser races would consider divine lore. (Main feature is a self writing book that records history as it unfolds.)

[] Added a star gazing room. Filled with a telescope that you brought with you, it allows you to peer out into space and see the movement of celestial bodies. (Allow you to keep an eye out for Outsiders and any visitors.)

[] Added a lab. Wanting a place to make experiments and see how things would go without needing to add them to the world itself, you have created a lab. (Here you make perfect creatures and whatever things you wish to make before adding them to the world.)

[] Added a training room. Not wanting to leave yourself exposed should Outsiders come or lag behind your fellows, you have constructed a small room in which weapons are held and a small arena where a basic training dummy stands. (You can make yourself stronger, and many amounts of weapons are held here.)

[] Added a garden. A place to walk about and settle your spirit as well as organize your thoughts, it is filled with all manner of life, both present, dead, and those yet to exist. (All manner of creatures will make their way here as they come into existence.)

[] Write in: What change did you make to your home? (Write what feature you wish for it to fill.)

Once time enough had passed you venture back to the world silently, curious to see what had changed.
---------------------------------------------------------------

First you visited were the humans, and my had they finally met your expectations. While they had no grand castle built yet, one was on the way while their buildings made of stone and wood were surrounded by a thick sturdy wall. Towers stood on each corner of the wall surrounding them, and large fields filled with crops stood outside them with homes and granaries aplenty. On all the flags was the visage of a snarling beast, the tarrasque you had sent to see what would happen. A quick day or so among them revealed they had named themself the Tar Kingdom, and that more humans flocked to them every day, hence the building of the castle not only for the quickly formed nobility but to serve double duty as a resting place for their ever-growing populace.
----------------------------------------------------

Next were the lizardmen, and my oh my had they grown. The outcast tribe had finally overtaken the other tribe and subsumed them into their own number, growing steadily until some split off on their own to gain more territory, with the approval of the three-fingered tribe leader of course. They had spread to take up near the entirety of their swamp, and one tribe that had taken to calling theself the wood gnawers looked to expand into the plains close by them.

And of course, you were not about to be remise of describing their god. Yes, a god had finally emerged! Tall and with thick corded muscle, he had a bone claw weapon on his right arm an axe made of only their strongest metal in his left, with red gleaming eyes and the teeth sharp enough to consume one of the rats in one fell swoop. next to him stoo an exmpalatory example of the alligator that once was called monster by the inhabitants of this swamp. Now, just to find out his name.

Algor. Hmm, interesting name.
---------------------------

A visit to the fish man city revealed that there no longer was a city. Instead, the snake king had driven them apart into nomadic tribes, scouring the trails that their forefathers had created to avoid the curse of the Snake King, spat out in his dying breaths as he and the hero of their time laid dying. But with the knight and the seahorse herders' sacrifice came their god, forged in her image. She took 1 year with each tribe, leading them and defending them from any beasts, with her knights standing beside her.

She had no name, for that would be far too limiting to one of her stature. They simply called her The Knight.
---------------------------------

When she went to go visit the rats she found herself pleasantly surprised with them as well. Their once dank caverns had turned into a respectable underground home. Tunnels were reinforced and lined with solid stone, openings into the mountain were armed with proper gates that both could allow defense and be hidden should the need arise. They had learned the secrets of smelting though were like infants compared to what you knew, which was barely a speck compared to your masters back home, they were the current masters of this world. They took inspiration and the abundant supply they had to practice and create. And at the center of their mountain reigned their eternal queen, having descended on the day of their lord Kingdoks death to raise their spirits into a new era.

They called her Ashura the peaceful, Ashura the beautiful, Ashura the clever, and a thousand other different titles. But from the fawning of the children she so often had hanging onto her tail and the clever scheming of the rats who still were cautious about trying to speak with humanity, she held one title closest to her breast. Ashura, All Mother.

Chapter 18: Lore time! And crystal sightseeing.
[X] Added a training room. (You can make yourself stronger, and many amounts of weapons are held here.)

You contemplated it for awhile, but in the end added a training room instead, not wanting to be found lacking should one of your more combat-oriented peers come to visit your world, or F.A.T.E forbid, an Outsider. With a hum of effort and a snapping of your fingers, a large room with a couple of dummies, an arena, and several racks of weaponry appeared. Most of them were what the mortals below would use but more advanced, but some were more exotic than this. Arrows made from metals used to pierce the skin of stars and rip out their hearts, a claymore with frost magic dripping off of it, powered by the hungering blackhole that had been used to forge it. Even a dagger that you had seen your teacher use once to kill three outsiders at once.

You spend time between the rest of your house and here, making yourself not quite the level of the warriors you have seen, but enough where you can at least hold on and keep yourself alive. You also consider the matter of decoration, and possibly sprucing it up, wondering what kind of things you would put up.

(You aren't adding decorations yet, but do put what you consider decoration worthy)

[] Write in: Decoration musings

( You can keep your own against others of your skill level now, and have a basic understanding of most weapons.)
-----------------------------------

You turned yourself invisible and went down to the human kingdom, taking a week to learn about them. About 4 days in the town and then the rest of that time in the almost-finished castle. And my oh my, was there a lot to learn.

It seemed the big lizard you had sent, after several years, had not quite been tamed but managed to be convinced to watch over their burgeoning city, keeping away the goblin tribes and even joining the king on what would be called "The Greenskin War," a series of conflicts that escalated to both sides nearly collapsing before the goblin king "Goldtooth" was consumed by the tarrsque. The surviving goblin tribes either then dug even deeper into their homes to where not even the Great Lizard, as the tarrasque had started to be called, could dig them out. And the rest? They fled out into the sea on makeshift boats, many of which were sunk by a vengeful humankind.

Now the girl's family that along with the guard had become a royal faction itself, her marrying a very intimidated yet determined farmer, taking her out on dates and even trading for a wheel of cheese to give her as a proposal gift. Mages and the farmers of their land in a surprise also joined forces, using their combined forces to grow crops supernaturally fast and ensure that during winters no one starved.

There was excitement in the air, as well as more than just a little pride in the voices of the commoners. Their lords were so wise, so gracious. They planned to let them into their castle for a celebration. They would even let the people name their new home! How kind, how wonderful.

It was almost too much. And as for the lords themselves, they were mostly as kind as the peasantry had said. Oh sure, the king had a thirst for more and a more expasionist bent mind, but he was kept in check from becoming a tyrant by the Tarasque and the others who advised him. Mostly.

The land was peaceful, almost upon the start of a new age with their castle. How...excellent as a setting~
-----------------

After a little more time among the humans you teleported back to where the crystal creature had been. The one down the mountain seemed to have moved and made shop into a cave at some point, dragging itself along the ceiling and sides of it with magical stalactites growing down, one even piercing the floor at some point. Meanwhile the large one at the top of the mountain has grown even larger, the singing from before no longer just a single pure note, but the sound of three or four singing in harmony. It's still just a single note, but it seems to have grown more than before. You also sense the start of what most would call a mind. Like a child it grows and even though it has no true awareness of its surrounding, you know that it can sense you.

"Mmm, well aren't you a pretty thing~" You hum softly while placing a hand on it, watching as the surface of the thing under it pulses under your fingers. "A very pretty thing indeed."

[] What do you wish to do?

[X] Make a Golem! Let's give this thing some sense of self. Perhaps the singing can be even more beautiful if they know what they're doing fully.
