Better, actually. As pointed out in other threads, a "business as usual" POTUS will tell what people want to hear and everyone else will rely on their "leadership", trusting that things are under control, except they aren't by definition, as they'll still be beholden to the usual interests. Compare to what is happening right now, AKA the entire US lobbying system being bypassed by the rest of the planet:
- the EU is going for increasingly ambitious climate change reduction goals and is becoming a policy leader there:
- individual US States and cities are telling the Feds to get fucked and are working together with the idea to follow the EU lead and standards;
- if the US gets fucked as a global power and no longer is a competitor to China, Beijing has a lot less reasons to delay investments and policies that could have endangered its position relative to the US.
