Lockheed Martin-Tata F-21. For India, From India.

A F-16V with a couple of additional gadgets, then. Their F-16IN was already rejected for being technically too poor, so is anyone actually expecting this will do more than provide some fake competition to muddle even more the waters for India?

Well, a particular Indian SB user that we both knew are claiming the F-21 is "an entirely different plane than the F-16!", and "rumored to be an enlarge design to fit the P&W F135 powerplant!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Redesign the F-16 to have the F-135, how cute. In Francophone forums, one of the long-lasting legends is the upgrade of the Duckie to a M88 9T, for 9 tons of thrust compared to its current 7,5. The big reason why this never was done and will probably never be done is that it'd require an important redesign of the inlets. The F135 is 190 kN compared to F100's 130 kN, so the entire plane would have to be redesigned from scratch.

Thanks for the laugh, though.

Though I must admit, fantasying a reworked F-16XL, with DSI engine inlets and enlarged airframe to fit the F-135 engine.

Load it with 12 × AIM-120D + 2 × AIM-9X and it would be a cool-looking 21st Century Delta Dart......

Or, you know, buy a Duckie with much better missiles/avionics, cleaner looks, supercruise and delta wings anyway.
