SECURITY ORIENTED DEVELOPEMENTS - WORLD

What. A. Mess.

You know what is Kargu 2?
China can be intrested with it's acquisition for patroling the Xinjang. Imagine how much you could shorten the OODA loop when hooking them into the local internal security network.

Yes, and pigs will fly out of my butt.

And Smolensk Gates will open, from which Putin will come, spreading communism and totalitarianism . . .

OK, I can only half read Russian, and this is in Ukrainian, but he actually said"We were told we will be invaded" I think.
I say talk with other people.

Well, representative of the Ukrainina government just moments ago during live interview in TVN24 have said it is premature to say Russia will invade and such behauviour will be bad to economy (ie. flight of capital, lost investments, lower rating due to the imminent danger of conflict).

Since you didn't include any commentary on the meaning of that carving, let me have a go at it:

The triangle and circles at the top represent God.
The horizontal line just beneath represents Atheism - putting a barrier between mankind and God.
The snake is of course the Devil - deceiving humanity away from God.
The two eyes... could be tears there, representing the sorrow and misery this brings.
And finally all the human figures lying upside down represent the deliberate democides carried out by godless, totalitarian regimes.

My interpretation is that when the three planets are in eclipse, the black hole like a door is opened, Evil comes, sowing terror and chaos. The snake represents the Ultimate Evil.. It should happen, according to my analysis... every five thousand years or so.

Sooo much fun with a 5th Element tablet replica :)

I am pretty sure that my interpretation of this tablet is adequate.

You know I like Frozen in Carbonite.
You can make a thread about fission open core rocket engines and their viability as a practical design with today's material science, then someone post "banana" and suddenly the thread is about sustenance farming in South America and the impact of the international corporations on the standards of living in the Amazon.

I am somewhat suspicious that the image you are talking about is a photo of a movie prop.

Fifth Element's opening scene.

And, yes, this is SB culture combined with a crowd small enough that rigorous moderation isn't necessary.

I knew it looked familiar. Thanks.

So while your interpretation of the image is spot on, my interpretation of the post as a whole is also adequate. Reaper has a peculiar sense of humor.

Yes, given what our popular sense of geopolitics in place where we live in that prop tablet is showing off that nicely. Also mixing the Scotty's interpretation, but instead of god references, inserting major global powers, it is even more spot on ;)
An yes I do have a peculiar sense of humor. Given the circumstances it's the only thing left.

If you want to have a lough look at this:

Sorry. on the phone.

If this ends up coming out the other end as a European counterpart to the Russia-Iran-Turkey axis re: Syria, things could get "interesting".

Return to 1939?
That would also mean giving serious part of Belarus and Latvia to Poland I think, and the eastern border of Soviet Ukraine was the same as it is now (including Crimea being Russian, that was taken from Russia by Khrushchev in 1954). The image shows very roughly the cultural divisions of Ukraine, with the mainly Russian East and South, the West with its long history as a part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth... but you know, if you started to do this with the borders in Europe, you'd never end. This is just silly, and IMO wouldn't make things any better. Unfortunately it's probably what we'll end up with, plus a whole lot of bad feelings all around, if nothing changes soon in EU's attitude towards Minsk II.

Maybe I should get around to actually watching that movie someday...

The problem with that idea is that in 1945 Operation Wisła happened. Ukrainian speakers in today Poland's border were rounded up and deported to Ukraine SSR , while Polish speakers in Ukraine were rounded up and deported to People Republic Poland.
There are almost no Poles with property in Ukraine nor are there Ukrainians with property in Poland.*

Given after the Banderite massacre of Poles it was bound to happen anyway.

But that does not change the fact that for example Western half of Belarus with people living there more or less considers themselves many times more Poles thn Belarussians. Our former domain in the East is filled with Polish cultural gestalt, which actually complicate things more than a bit, espceially with cross border movement and East - West relations.

On the other hand OP. WISŁA protected us from another Yugoslavia.

It was just a small part of massive forced relocations that happened.
Bandera was not even remotely the cause. Also it is not like Polish Partizans didn't do their fair share of war crimes on the civilian population.
Every time I hear someone complaining about Ukrainian press or officals praising Bendera, I want to scream at them the Poles put convicted murderers on statues.

Bottom line; in history there are no saints.

Some Pole I met elsewhere once told me that Poles would take turns to praise and curse the first king of the Commonwealth because he was Lithuanian and not Polish.

Looks like Chinese arms dealers and manufacturers just found some pretty solid job security for the foreseeable future, the absolute state of Argentinean military can only go up from where its currently at, and China is currently (one of) the only country they can get weapons/equipment from due to the UK arms embargo from 1982
