What if you stumble upon the following Secret ?

Ok, lets just say, you are employed by the Goverment. Your first task is to sort all sorts of old files into a cabinet in a govermental warehouse.
As you sort the files, you find a Folder with "TOP SECRET: FOR THE PRESIDENT ONLY" written in big fat red Letters on it.
Since there are no Cameras, Supervisors, Guards or any other one there, you decide to take a peek in the Folder.

Here you find the following Information:

1. The Earth is just one of many in the Galaxy
2. They are all created by a already extinct Race.
3. Mankind of this Earth doesn´t originate from this Earth but from another.
4. Mankind was brought to this Earth by a Race of extraterrestrial Reptiles, who were in search of cheap Labor and Food.
5. They rule Mankind from the Shadows since thousands of Years.
6. All the famous Folks were Lizardman in Disguise.
7. The Shadow Goverment is keeping this Mankinds development low, in order to prevent loss of Control. Wars, Famines, etc... All their doing.
10. Mankind out there lives in a Type II Civilisation with many other Races in a Federation. This Federation want to liberate this World.
11. The Moonlanding didn´t happened, since Spacetravel is highly restricted and controlled by the Shadow Goverment. Rockets/Ships/Sats are either Sabotaged or Destroyed
11. A Forcefield around Moon and Earth prevents them from reaching this world and liberating this World.

A red colored key attached to the document and a location marked on a Map shows the Terminal to switch of the Forcefield.

So, how do you react to this ?
And would you switch of the Forcefield ??

In this case your curiosity was greater than your caution.

I got inspired by a few episodes of Inside Job and Lower Decks.....
That there are Earth like planets out there in the ST-Universe is given.
And it´s not the first time a Human Population is transportet to another Earth(-like Planet).
Inside Job could be a perfect example for this.
 
Write it into a novel and publish it to middling reception.

Well, you would need a basic outline of what you want to have happen in the story. Do you want it to end with the shield going down, and the external powers coming in to remove the reptilian ruling class?
And if so.... does that turn out good or bad?

If you are positing Star Trek level technology, then the Earth could have been created yesterday, using a Genesis Device. Or you could be in the Holodeck.
It's a rabbit-hole of un-disprovable what-ifs.

Basically, the shield should go down and there should be a lot of chaos and confusion. Yes, the Reptiles would leave the Planet but not without creating a big mess.

Earth like Copies are not uncommon in the Star Trek Universe. So no Genesis Device or Holodeck needed.

I am being trolled and/or former President Orange was being trolled.
Likelihood: 96%.

There is a location on the map with a terminal to switch off the forcefield.
If true, the lizards, presumably not being morons, would have the magical thing called ANOTHER DOOR opened only by ANOTHER KEY to secure the place.
Also guards. Also, guns.

There is nothing I can do about this. Put it back. It is literally the President's job to deal with this sort of moral problem.
